Exhibition by Artist in Residence
As part of the 2015 South Australian Living Artists (SALA) Festival artist, John Blines, took up the position of the FMC SALA Artist-in-Residence based in the Flinders Centre for Innovation in Cancer.
Working with patients he has considered What does cancer feel like? Over the past six months the Book Art Project has provided an opportunity for patients at the Flinders Infusion Suite to work with John to create their own book or have a book made for them. Crafting remarkable handmade books John has helped cancer patients to capture their thoughts and experiences.
Working with clinicians and researchers, he has explored What does cancer look like? The results of which can be seen in a body of work titled ‘Unknown’ on exhibition in the Community Galleries, level 2 and level 6, Flinders Medical Centre from 8 December 2015 – 28 February 2016.
