Did you know that one in two Australians will be diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85?

Whilst the diagnosis rate is high, the last 20 years have witnessed enormous advances in cancer care and control,
resulting in higher cure rates and prolonged survival for many cancers. However, with advances come new
challenges of ensuring access to all, treatment affordability and delayed side effects.

In this lecture, Professor Ian Olver AM will:

      • present improvements in cancer control over the last 20 years

      • discuss the challenges ahead of us

      • provide insights into the future directions of cancer care.
