Statement - LIVESTRONG Cancer Research Centre

15 October 2012

The Flinders Medical Centre Foundation formed an association with the LIVESTRONG Foundation in January 2009.

The association sees a laboratory in the new Flinders Centre for Innovation in Cancer named after LIVESTRONG.

This was an alignment struck between two charitable bodies that seek only to raise funds for cancer research and cancer prevention as well as to raise awareness about the needs of the more than 28 million people diagnosed with cancer around the world.

At no time has there been any money exchanged between the parties, nor on behalf of the FMC Foundation by any other party.

LIVESTRONG’s Cancer Survivorship Program is amongst the best, if not the best in the world and is benefiting cancer patients worldwide.
